Meet The Head

 

Welcome to The Queen Katherine School and thank you for taking the time to look at our website.  The Queen Katherine School serves the community of Kendal and its neighbouring villages.  We are an outstanding school and have a commitment to developing well rounded youngsters.

 

Our vision statement really sums up the unique nature of QKS

 

Enjoy – outstanding teaching and learning, excellent facilities, over 60 extra-curricular activities, a wide range of visits and trips, numerous guest speakers and industry experts visit the school to enhance our curriculum.

 

Achieve – QKS features highly in local and national league tables, a strong track record of academic achievement at GCSE and A level.  Excellent careers guidance to ensure progression for all students.  Appropriate curriculum to engage all our learners. To cap off our achievements we have recently been awarded National Teaching School status.

 

Respect – Active School Council who represent the school at every level, good manners and behaviour are expected from all, regular rewards assemblies to celebrate achievement, superb relationships between staff and students.

 

Include – nationally recognised support for all students, there is a physical and medical strategic facility on site.  Host of curriculum opportunities for all students, regular monitoring of student progress and a range of intervention used to help students realise their potential.  Co-location of Sandgate School within our school site.
